Ritalin is favoured over Dexedrine and Cylert because (a) it is fast-acting–you see results after half an hour, whereas Cylert takes three to four weeks; (b) its negative side effects are fewer than those of Dexedrine; (c) it costs relatively little time and money; (d) in many cases, it works.
